xBox’s primary critical problem is the lack of a functional and growing platform ecosystem for small developers to sell digitally-/network-distributed (non-disc) content through to the installed base of xBox customers, period.

Im Gegensatz zu Microsoft und Sony muss Apple in diesem Jahr keine neue Hardware vorlegen um seinen zweiten Fuß in die Wohnzimmertür zu stellen. Alleine in den vergangenen drei Monaten floss eine Milliarde US-Dollar an iOS-Entwickler – an Interesse und einem funktionierenden Ökosystem für Software mangelt es (bekanntlich) auch nicht.

Daher ist es keine Kunst festzustellen: Es fehlt (lediglich) ein Apple-TV-SDK.

Update: Ein Event im März steht aber derzeit nicht auf der Agenda.
