Path überlebte mit 77 Millionen US-Dollar insgesamt fünf Jahre. Ein Verkauf ist im Grunde seit vier Jahren im Gespräch. Der neue Eigentümer Daum Kakao, der unter anderem die Chat-App KakaoTalk (kostenlos; App-Store-Link) mit über 150 Millionen Nutzern betreibt, plant nach eigenen Aussagen das Path-Netzwerk in seiner jetzigen Form weiter zu pflegen.
