188 dämlich mysteriöse Schiffscontainer voller “electric computers” für Apple
Ja, ja, wie schon im Podcast leicht genervt angemerkt drehen momentan alle durch, und jedes noch so kleine Detail, dass ein 3G iPhone wahrscheinlicher macht, findet übermäßig viel Beachtung. So auch die neuste Geschichte in der … ach lest einfach selbst. fscklog hat sowohl die “News” zusammengefasst als auch sogleich ins richtige Licht gesetzt.

Am 19. März lieferte Quanta angeblich die ersten 20 Schiffscontainer an Apple, deren Inhalt auf den Frachtpapieren als ‘electric computers’ klassifiziert wurde – eine Bezeichnung, die weder Apple, noch Quanta, noch irgendjemand sonst jemals (dramatisch grollende Geigenuntermalung bitte selbst hinzudenken) als Bezeichnung verwendet habe, so ImportGenius.com in einer als Blog-Artikel angestrichenen Pressemeldung. Gleichzeitig nahmen Lieferungen von ‘desktop computers’ und anderenGeräten in den vergangenen Monaten nicht ab, insofern folgert die Firma, dass sich hinter dem Pleonasmus der ‘electric computers’ ein neues Apple-Produkt verstecken könnte, statt einer reinen Bezeichnungsänderung auf der Zolldeklaration. Ergo müsse es sich, so die Interpretation von ImportGenius, um das UMTS-iPhone handeln, das bereits massenweise in die USA geliefert wird. Dies ist allerdings hochgradig unwahrscheinlich, denn seit März wird das neue iPhone garantiert noch nicht angeliefert und insbesondere nicht in den aufgeführten Größenordnungen (sonst wären jetzt bereits über 7,5 Millionen 3G-iPhones in den USA, eine abstrus hohe Zahl, zumal die Produktion erst jetzt im Mai überhaupt angelaufen sein dürfte). Zudem fliegt Apple gewöhnlich neue, wichtige Produkte ein, statt den langwierigen Schiffsweg zu nehmen. Letztlich ist der Kisteninhalt sowieso unwichtig, denn an einem Juni-Start des UMTS-iPhones dürfte kaum mehr jemand zweifeln, immerhin vertreiben die fantasieanregenden 188 mysteriösen Schiffscontainer die Zeit bis dahin ein wenig.

3G kommt am 9. Juni – oder “Wann eine News keine News ist”
Heute geistert durch so ziemlich jeden Blog die News, dass unser mit Spannung erwartetes iPhone 3G am 9. Juni erscheint.
Wenn es alle schreiben scheint ja was dran zu sein, ne?
Meine Güte, was ein Aufstand nur weil eine einzige “Quelle” zunächst behauptet sie sei aus “Kreisen die mit dem Launch am 9. Juni zu tun hätten”, und dann weiterhin behauptet der Launch wäre am 9. Juni.
Keine Lust darauf weiter einzugehen. Hier der Orginal Text von tuaw:
Gizmodo is reporting that ‘sources close to the 3G launch’ have provided confirmation that the iPhone 3G will be announced at the WWDC 2008 Keynote on June 9th.
Ein Gutes hat das ganze jedoch. Es zeigt doch das Interesse an diesem Gerät. Apple wird mit dem 3G Gerät die 10 Millionen Endgeräte bis Ende des Jahres, meiner Meinung nach, leicht schaffen.
