Apple filtert Comic-Content in Apps (aber verkauft die Hefte über ihren iBookstore)

Die Richtlinien sind (relativ) klar, die Umsetzung bleibt inkonsequent – die alte Leier. Apple untersagt der Comic-Publikation SAGA den App-Vertrieb* von Ausgabe 12 aufgrund ‚nackter Tatsachen‚.

As has hopefully been clear from the first page of our first issue, SAGA is a series for the proverbial “mature reader.” Unfortunately, because of two postage stamp-sized images of gay sex, Apple is banning tomorrow’s SAGA #12 from being sold through any iOS apps.

The distinction between apps and books may seem obvious to Apple, but it’s becoming increasingly hard to explain to anybody else.

Trostpflaster: Der aufbrausende Netzsturm dieser fehlgeleiteten Apple-Prüfung dürfte der Veröffentlichung von Brian K. Vaughan (Y: The Last Man, Ex Machina, etc.) ausreichend Publicity einspielen, den finanziellen Ausfall zu decken. Auch das wäre nicht neu.
