Zubehör fürs 12,9″ iPad Pro ➊
Apples „Lightning auf USB 3 Kamera-Adapter“ (45 Euro) ist ab sofort eine Schnittstelle für Mikrofone, Ethernet-Kabel oder (Speicherkarten‑)Lesegeräte. Jason Snell hat es bereits ausprobiert (und schon zweimal darüber geschrieben):
I was able to attach both my Blue Yeti microphone and an XLR-based microphone via the Sound Devices USBPre 2 USB mixer to my iPad Pro with no problem. Both showed up as inputs in Ferrite Recording Studio immediately. This all worked on my iPhone 6S, too—same adapter, same microphones, same result.

Als Kunde eines 12,9″ iPad Pro kann man sich außerdem einen „29W USB-C Power Adapter“ (59 Euro) sowie ein „Lightning auf USB-C Kabel“ (29 Euro) zulegen um so sein großes Tablet schneller aufzuladen. Exakte Messwerte habe ich allerdings noch nicht im Netz gefunden (und meine Bestellung kommt erst in der nächsten Woche).
Unverständlich bleibt, warum sich das 9,7″ iPad Pro mit USB 2.0 begnügt und auch nur mit zwei Gigabyte an Arbeitsspeicher auskommen muss, obwohl das große iPad Pro mit vier Gigabyte bestückt ist.
Putting a USB 2-speed Lightning port in the new 9.7-inch iPad Pro doesn’t doom it. My main reason for upgrading to one from my original iPad Air is for overall performance and the ability to use the Apple Pencil. But it does disappoint me that Apple could make a really fantastic tool for photographers by nudging it in a few directions—OS-level raw file support as in OS X, color profiles to bring the iPad into color management workflows, USB 3 speeds.
