iOS 11.2 beta: Apple Pay Cash startet in den USA
Apple Pay Cash ist unabhängig von der iOS-Beta im Moment nur Personen mit einer US-Sozialversicherungsnummer vorbehalten – selbst andere Apple-Pay-Länder sind in der Testphase nicht dabei.
Die „virtuelle Kreditkarte“ erlaubt es Geldbeträge per iMessage zu empfangen und zu versenden – direkt von Person zu Person. Das persönliche „Konto“ lässt sich über die Wallet-App einsehen und aufladen. Guthaben kann man zurück auf ein Bankkonto überweisen (wenn man das überhaupt möchte) oder damit direkt in Supermärkten und Online-Shops einkaufen.
Apple steigt mit Apple Pay Cash in einen bereits lebendigen „Mobile payment“-Markt ein. Venmo, Square Cash, PayPal, AliPay oder WeChat Pay sind bereits etabliert, auch wenn das nach Land und Region variiert. Apple ist durch die Kombination aus eigener Hardware, eigenem Betriebssystem und eigenem Chat-Service aber „uniquely“ positioniert. Wer ein iPhone kauft, ist quasi dabei. Das ist schon attraktiv.
