Kuo: „Apple visiert AR-Headset fürs nächste Jahr an”
Today, Ming-Chi Kuo reports that Apple’s first augmented reality product will go into mass production as soon as the fourth quarter of this year, but hedges the timeframe slightly and says it will be mass-produced by the second quarter of 2020 at the latest.
Kuo says that Apple’s first-generation of AR glasses will be heavily dependent on the iPhone.
Die zeitliche Einordnung von zukünftigen Produkten, die Apple irgendwann einmal vorstellen könnte, ist nie sehr spannend. Diese Gerüchte sind a) oft falsch und b) ohnehin immer nur sehr vage umschrieben.
In diesem Fall ist der zeitliche Aspekt jedoch eine Erwähnung wert, weil sich sowohl Shara Tibken (CNET)1 vor einem Jahr, wie auch Mark Gurman (Bloomberg)2 vor eineinhalb Jahren, aufs gleiche Jahr wie jetzt Ming-Chi Kuo für das Projekt T288 festgelegt hatten (obwohl sie ganz offensichtlich ihre Informationen aus unterschiedlichen Quellen bezogen).
