As part of Automattic, Pocket Casts will continue to provide you with the features needed to enjoy your favorite podcasts (or find something new). We will explore building deep integrations with WordPress.com and Pocket Casts, making it easier to distribute and listen to podcasts.
Die WordPress-Macher übernahmen bereits Tumblr, Simplenote, Longreads und Day One. Das Team rund um Matt Mullenweg bewies sich über die letzten Jahre als guter Eigentümer dieser Apps und Dienste – weil es seine Tochterfirmen weitgehend in Ruhe weiterarbeiten ließ.
NPR schaffte genau das mit der plattformübergreifenden Podcast-App nicht – nur so erkläre ich mir den Weiterverkauf nach lediglich zwei Jahren.
Wie schon beim exzellenten Day One habe ich eine gutes Gefühl für diese Übernahme.
