Microsoft has been running its „personal assistant“ Cortana on its Windows phones for a year, and will put the new version on the desktop with the arrival of Windows 10 this autumn. iOS 8.2 stopft nicht nur die schwerwiegende ‚Freak Attack‘-Sicherheitslücke, sondern patcht auch einen Fehler, mit dem ein Angreifer per SMS ein iPhone und iPad rebooten kann.

Stanford University researchers were stunned when they awoke Tuesday to find that 11,000 people had signed up for a cardiovascular study using Apple Inc.’s ResearchKit, less than 24 hours after the iPhone tool was introduced.
“To get 10,000 people enrolled in a medical study normally, it would take a year and 50 medical centers around the country,” said Alan Yeung, medical director of Stanford Cardiovascular Health. “That’s the power of the phone.”
ResearchKit schaffte es nicht zufällig in die Apple-Watch-Keynote. Die aktuellen und (primär) zukünftigen Sensoren der Uhr werden eine zentrale Rolle bei der Datenerhebung einnehmen.
Das wird noch Jahre dauern, aber Tim Cooks Apple verfolgt ernsthaftes Interesse am Gesundheitswesen.
